Stamplets is a camera app that turns whatever you point it at into a postage stamp. You see the stamp live in a retro viewfinder, take the shot, and it lands in an album-style collection with perforated edges and a paper texture generated for that photo.
It’s React Native on Expo, and most of the work is in the camera screen: stamp shapes and overlays drawn live with Reanimated over the camera feed, with pinch-to-zoom and haptics. Each stamp keeps the place it was taken, so the collection also shows as a clustered map.
Parts: Camera (expo-camera), Live viewfinder (Reanimated overlays), Stamp render (perforation · paper), Location (expo-location), Collection (SQLite · Drizzle), Stamp map (clustered pins).
- Camera to Live viewfinder
- Live viewfinder to Stamp render (capture)
- Stamp render to Collection (save)
- Location to Collection
- Collection to Stamp map
Photos and collections stay on the device. Collections live in SQLite through Drizzle on expo-sqlite, with no account and no server. RevenueCat runs the paywall and the paid overlay packs, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics cover the rest, and the app ships in several languages, from Japanese and Korean to Turkish.
